Flashlube DOT4 Brake Fluid is developed using poly-glycol fluids, which deliver the correct braking requirements in specified applications. It is used as a standard for vehicles manufactured after 2006. and it is a more suitable choice for higher temperature braking applications.
DOT4 Brake Fluid has an estimated dry boiling point of 270 °C (446 °F) and an estimated wet boiling point of 158 °C (316.4 °F). The fluid’s boiling point indicates the temperature at which the brake fluid vaporizes. The higher the DOT classification, the higher the boiling point, thus the better the fluid is at resisting heat.
DOT4 Brake Fluid can withstand braking in high temperature conditions better, making them ideal for vehicles under heavy loads or in performance driving situations.
Like DOT3 Brake Fluid, DOT4 has a hygroscopic nature. It absorbs less moisture than DOT3, but once contaminated, it can suffer a larger drop in boiling point, meaning you would need to change fluids more frequently.
