Installation Instructions for Kit FEVSK
DO NOT cut or use the gas supply line.
Locate a suitable position in the engine bay to attach the lubricant reservoir and the electronic control unit (ECU) away from areas of extreme heat.
Remove the reservoir from the cradle.
Mount the cradle in a vertical position using the self tapping screws and refit the reservoir.
Fit the ECU to a suitable location within 300mm of the reservoir and connect the large plug to the pump and the small pump to the low fluid level sensor.
Connect white wire to switching side of the gas injector – check both sides of the injector with LED test light.
One side of the injector will be switching on and off during engine cranking - connect wire to the switching side.
Power Red Wire.
Connect red wire to a suitable source so that power is supplied only when the ignition is on eg: LPG lock off solenoid valve, Connect the red wire to the positive 12 volt terminal on the solenoid (check with LED test light). Check Fuse holder and ensure fuse is intact.
Connect the black wire to a suitable earth.
Installing the Low Fluid Warning Light in the Dash
Locate a suitable position in the dash board for the Low level warning light.
Drill a 7mm diameter hole and insert the LED. Place the Flashlube sticker over the LED, ensuring the surface is clean and dry for maximum adhesion.
Feed connecting wires (green and yellow) back through the firewall and connect to corresponding wires from the ECU.
Connecting the Fluid Supply to the Engine
For maximum performance, the inlet port for the Flashlube fluid should be between the Butterfly valve and the inlet manifold. Installing it 50mm to 100mm away from the Butterfly should provide good mixing with the air/fuel stream. Drill a 3.5mm hole in this location (use grease on the drill to pick up the swarf) and insert the self taping connector. Use a suitable thread sealant to eliminate the possibility of a vacuum leak.
Attach the fluid supply hose from the Flashlube reservoir to the manifold fitting and fit the supplied clamp.
Setting the Treat Rate
Set the dial on the ECU to 6.
Fill the reservoir with Flashlube fluid to 400ml. DO NOT overfill.
The ECU depends on the gas injector to relay pulses to the Flashlube fluid pump.
It may take several minutes for the fluid to flow into the sight glass after the initial installation.
To speed up the priming process you can set the flow adjustment dial temporarily to 9, then back to 6 once fluid starts to flow into the sight glass.
After the pump has primed, concentrate on getting ratio of approximately 1ml of Flashlube Valve Saver Fluid to 1 litre of fuel.
Fill the fuel your fuel tank and ensure the Flashlube reservoir is at 400ml.
At your next fuel fill take not of the litres used. Check the Flashlube reservoir fluid level and note how much Flashlube fluid has bee used. If 50 litres of fuel have been used then approximately 50ml of Flashlube Valve Saver Fluid should also have been used.
If not, adjust the ECU. Dial up (for more fluid) or down (for less fluid) one point accordingly. Repeat this process again as required.
Important note: Ensure you use only GENUINE FLASHLUBE Valve Saver Fluid in the Flashlube injection system. Failure to do this will void your warranty and may very well lead to engine damage.
Please note the following: This injection kit contains a very fine porex filter for maintenance free operation. Due to the purity of Flashlube Valve Saver Fluid, other brands of lubricants will be unsuitable in this unit. They may not mix or vaporise properly in the air/fuel stream and may block the porex filter. |
